There is a new procedure for dealing with Road Traffic Accidents after the 30th April 2010 where the anticipated level of compensation is up to £10,000.  Claims have to be submitted online. The procedure is aimed at avoiding the need for a court hearing and is intended to be quicker than court proceedings.  Solicitors who handle these claims have to be registered to process applications on behalf of clients.

Hayes + Storr are registered to deal with these claims and have experienced members of our personal injury team who can handle these claims on behalf of clients.  Although it is a new procedure, all members of our personal injury department have had training on the procedures and are familiar with the forms and the process and will be able to advise you upon it and assist you with your claim.

It is very important that if you do have an accident that you notify your own insurance company immediately. You should also notify your insurers if you wish to bring a claim so that they are aware of your situation.

The new process does put a very strict time limit on parties to comply with deadlines.  Insurance companies will be put under considerable pressure when the new system takes effect.  It is therefore very important that you do communicate with them as early as possible to ensure that they act in accordance with your instructions.  It is also important that you get legal advice at an early stage if you are considering bringing a claim for an accident.

The process only applies to Road Traffic Accidents.  This includes incidents where pedestrians are hit by vehicles as well as collisions involving more than one vehicle.

If you need any advice in relation to the process whatsoever please do not hesitate to contact us.

The process does not apply to other types of personal injury claims.  We can of course give advice and assistance in relation to any type of personal injury claim, however.

If you wish to discuss any potential claim then please do not hesitate to contact either Gordon Simpson on 01328 863231 or Donna Sparrow on 01553 778900.  Alternatively you can submit an e-mail query to either gordon.simpson@hayes-storr.com or donna.sparrow@hayes-storr.com
