An evening with Tim Bentinck at Holkham Hall

As fans of the long-running, rural radio soap ‘The Archers’, we were delighted to sponsor and participate in a fabulous evening at Holkham Hall with Tim Bentinck in aid of the North Norfok charity Heritage House.

Tim Bentinck (aka David Archer in the Archers and 12th Earl of Portland) is one of Britain’s best-loved actors. An accomplished stage, radio, film and television actor, Tim is also a top voice artist, dubbing specialist, inventor, writer, travel journalist, computer programmer and musician.

As well as entertaining everyone on the night with stories of his rich and varied life – from being the voice of ‘Mind the Gap’ on the Piccadilly line and tales from The Archers, he had prepared a short ‘Archer’s’ script with people performing different roles with him on stage. Here he is pictured with Miranda Marshall playing Ruth. A year at law school in Newcastle certainly came in handy with her Geordie accent! Luckily, Miranda is no stranger to the Archers and recently themed one of her much loved articles on one of its many controversial plotlines.
