Family Law Services
The Family Law Department at Hayes + Storr has a strong reputation for it’s effective and conciliatory approach in this specialist field.
Our experienced and approachable team of family law solicitors in Norfolk will provide reliable, confidential advice on a wide range of issues concerning families and relationship breakdown. We also pride ourselves on being available to the client whenever possible and, importantly, explaining matters in plain English.
From April 2022, divorcing couples do not need to prove fault for the breakdown of their marriage, and now that all divorce applications are made online, it is a lot easier and less stressful to end a marriage.
However, it is important to know that, even after you have obtained a final order in the divorce, yours and your spouse’s claims for financial relief arising out of the marriage will remain open – unless you also get an order from the court stating how the property and finances are to be split.
The new online divorce process will not tell you how to do this, as splitting the matrimonial finances must be dealt with separately. This is why you will still need advice from a solicitor.
What Service Can We Provide?
We can assist with all aspects of Family Law, from explaining your legal position in different circumstances, through representing your interests in negotiations with other parties, to guiding you through any court proceedings which may become necessary. Our aim is to achieve an outcome which is both satisfactory and fair for you and your family.
Here are some circumstances that our Family Law Solicitors can advise you on:
- No fault divorce
- Civil Partnerships and Same-Sex Marriage
- Divorce / Separation
- Financial Settlements
- Marital Agreements (Prenuptial, Postnuptial)
- Change of name service
We always aim to be competitive. At our initial meeting, we will discuss with you the likely cost of any action we may undertake on your behalf. On some occasions, services can be provided at a fixed cost. Regular billing helps you monitor your costs. We also try to provide realistic timescales so you can plan your future.
It is important to get your advice early and before making any final decisions. We offer a reduced rate fixed fee appointment for all new clients of £100+VAT. There is no on-going obligation should you decide not to proceed. Please request the family department on 01328 863231 in the first instance for all new family enquires. Appointments are available at any of our offices and normally within 72 hours or sooner in an emergency.
