Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 – 17:00

About the Role

We are currently seeking an organised and proactive Legal Assistant to join our team in Fakenham. This is a dedicated legal support role focused on providing high-quality administrative and case support to solicitors and fee earners.

You will work closely with solicitors and fee earners, assisting with file management, document preparation, client communication, compliance tasks, billing support, and general legal administration to help ensure matters progress efficiently and accurately.

This role would suit someone who enjoys a varied legal support workload, is highly organised, and is confident working in a busy professional environment. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing administrative and secretarial support to solicitors and fee earners
  • Assisting with client file opening, maintenance and closing procedures in line with firm requirements
  • Preparing, formatting and amending legal correspondence and documents using firm templates and precedents
  • Liaising with clients, courts, counsel, experts and third parties in a professional and timely manner
  • Managing diaries, appointments and key dates, including arranging meetings and follow-up actions
  • Filing, scanning and maintaining accurate electronic and paper files
  • Handling incoming and outgoing post and ensuring documents are saved to the correct matter files
  • Supporting billing, invoicing and general matter administration where required
  • Assisting with compliance and document management processes in accordance with firm procedures
  • Archiving completed files, wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney in accordance with firm procedures
  • Attending home visits with solicitors when required to act as a second witness

Ideal Candidate

  • The successful candidate will demonstrate:
  • Previous legal assistant, legal administrator or professional services administrative experience (desirable)
  • Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent communication and client care skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy office environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • A proactive and reliable approach to work
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
