Residential Property Paralegal

An excellent opportunity to develop your career in Residential Property

Hayes + Storr is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Residential Property Paralegal to join our highly experienced and established team in Fakenham.

We welcome applications from experienced Residential Property Paralegals looking for their next career move, as well as those with some residential conveyancing experience who are keen to develop their skills, take on greater responsibility and progress towards becoming a fee earner.

You will work alongside highly experienced residential property professionals in a supportive environment where training, professional development and career progression are actively encouraged.
At Hayes + Storr, we are committed to investing in our people and helping them build rewarding, long-term careers. For the right candidate, this role offers a genuine opportunity to develop towards managing your own caseload and becoming an established residential property fee earner.

The Role
You will become an important member of our Fakenham Residential Property team, working closely with experienced fee earners on a varied caseload of residential conveyancing matters.

Depending on your experience, your responsibilities will include

  • Assisting with residential property transactions, including sales, purchases, remortgages, transfers of equity and new-build properties.
  • Preparing and reviewing contracts, legal documents and completion statements.
  • Reviewing title documentation, carrying out searches and raising and responding to enquiries.
  • Liaising directly with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders and other solicitors.
  • Assisting with the exchange of contracts, completions and post-completion matters, including SDLT submissions and Land Registry applications.
  • Ensuring files are maintained accurately and in accordance with regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Developing your knowledge of residential property law and conveyancing procedures through practical experience and training.
  • Taking on increasing responsibility for transactions, with the opportunity to progress towards managing your own caseload under appropriate supervision.

We will tailor the level of responsibility to your experience, with opportunities to develop further as your confidence and skills grow.

About You

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, organised and committed to providing excellent client service.
Ideally, you will have:

  • Previous experience as a Residential Property Paralegal or in a similar conveyancing role.
  • A good understanding of the residential conveyancing process.
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and client care skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively within a busy team.
  • Confidence using IT and legal case management systems.
  • A proactive, professional and team-focused approach.
  • A genuine interest in developing your knowledge and progressing your career in residential property.

You do not need to have experience managing your own caseload. We are equally interested in candidates who demonstrate the right attitude, aptitude and ambition to develop into a fee-earning role.
