Walking to save lives

The East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) saves lives by delivering highly skilled doctors and critical care paramedics by air or car to seriously ill or injured people in the region. They are a life-saving charity that is only kept airborne thanks to their incredible supporters, like our very own Amanda Mendham and her friend Kate who managed to raise over £1,500 for EAAA in a sponsored walk at the weekend.

Their 24 mile hike took them from the Norfolk Broads all the way to Norwich through rural countryside. Amanda said: “It was a beautiful walk, and we even found the first 20 miles relatively easy. That may have had something to do with the beautiful scenery and the odd bit of chatting!

The last four miles however, now that was a different story! Most of it was downhill, which oddly proved more difficult. The calves tightened up and it was very hot when the sun came out. However, I’m pleased to say no blisters at all, and it felt amazing. We’re thankful to all our friends and colleagues who sponsored us and Hayes + Storr, who also donated generously.”
