Family Law Services
The Family Law Department at Hayes + Storr has a strong reputation for its effective and conciliatory approach in this specialist field.
Our experienced and approachable team of family law solicitors in Norfolk will provide reliable, confidential advice on a wide range of issues concerning families and relationship breakdown.
We also pride ourselves on being available to the client whenever possible and, importantly, explaining matters in plain English.
What Service Can We Provide?
We can assist with all aspects of Family Law, from explaining your legal position in different circumstances to representing your interests in negotiations with other parties. We can also guide you through mediation or any court proceedings which may become necessary, although the court should always be seen as a last resort. We aim to achieve an outcome which is both satisfactory and fair for you and your family.
The department is led by the well-known and highly experienced Rob Colwell. He and his team are members of Resolution; a national organisation of family lawyers committed to resolving family problems in a non-confrontational way.

Costs
It is important to get your advice early and before making any final decisions. We offer all new clients an initial appointment at a reduced fixed fee. This includes up to one hour with one of our solicitors. During this time, the solicitor will listen to the details of your situation, understand your circumstances, and explain your options and legal rights.
You can choose to have this appointment by phone, video call, or in person at one of our offices – whatever works best for you.
The cost of this appointment is £125 plus VAT (£150 in total). This is lower than our usual hourly rate. If the meeting goes well beyond the hour, any extra time may be charged at our standard hourly rate plus VAT.
After the meeting, you will receive a written summary (an attendance note) of the advice given. This will also include an outline of likely future costs and timescales. We aim to send this, along with our client care documents, within five working days of your appointment.
We also offer, subject to availability, a free 30-minute telephone consultation for very brief advice on a specific issue. Please note, this is not as detailed as the reduced-fee appointment due to the shorter time allowed.
There is no obligation to continue with us after your initial appointment. Our family support staff will contact you 14 days afterwards to see if you would like to take things further. If we do not hear from you, we will close your file. Appointments are available by telephone, online or at any of our offices, and normally within 24 hours or sooner in an emergency.
If you would like to book an appointment or need more information, please contact our family support staff on 01328 863231 or email enquiries@hayes-storr.com.
We always focus on conducting your case in a cost-effective manner and aim to be competitive. At our initial meeting, we will discuss with you the likely cost of any action we may undertake on your behalf. Regular and transparent billing helps you monitor your costs. We also try to provide realistic timescales so you can plan your future.
